2018: Ben Sweat continued to excel in the fullback position for NYCFC in 2018. The American started 24 matches out of 28 total appearances on the season. Sweat logged nearly 2,200 minutes for New York City, and his hard work was rewarded in the form of his first USMNT call-up in October, where he took the field in front of friends and family in Tampa, Florida wearing the Stars N’ Stripes.
2017: Ben Sweat was added to NYCFC’s roster ahead of the 2017 season, managing to lock down the starting spot at left fullback in the absence of Ronald Matarrita. Sweat made 26 appearances and played more than 2,000 minutes for the Club, contributing six assists and helping NYCFC to its best defensive season yet. 2015: Went on loan to Columbus Crew's affiliate club Dayton Dutch Lions and then signed for Tampa Bay Rowdies in March 2015. Ben represented The Rowdies on 33 occasions across two seasons.
2014: Ben was taken by Columbus Crew in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft where he was selected as the 14th overall pick in the first round.
Youth: Sweat enjoyed a four-year college career with South Florida Bulls, making 73 appearances.
