VOTE: Etihad Player of the Month – August

Etihad Player of the Month August

It’s time to vote for your Etihad Player of the Month for August.

One of NYCFC’s best months of 2017 so far, the team won three and drew one of the four games played.

Who gets your vote?

Frederic Brillant

The Frenchman stepped in for Maxime Chanot to great effect in August, playing all four games as part of a defense which kept a clean sheet against LA Galaxy.

A strong aerial presence and strong in the tackle, Frederic Brillant earns his first nomination of the season.

Sean Johnson

The U.S. international goalkeeper earns his nomination on the strength of a terrific month which included one of the best individual performances of the season so far.

NYCFC were under pressure throughout the 2-0 victory over LA Galaxy at the StubHub Center but Sean Johnson was a man mountain, making five incredible saves to shut out the hosts and help clinch three points for the Boys in Blue.

Jonathan Lewis

The Rookie Jonathan Lewis is up for his first Etihad Player of the Month award after netting the first two goals of his pro career.

They were both important ones too, with the first against LA Galaxy – a stunning solo golazo – opening the scoring and his second against New England was a game-winner in the last minute of stoppage-time.

David Villa

In the month he earned a first recall to the Spanish national team for three years, David Villa was at his imperious best, scoring his first-ever hat-trick for NYCFC in the 3-2 win over Red Bulls.

He scored again to seal the win against LA before netting a priceless equalizer against New England which paved the way for Lewis’s winner.
