VOTE | Etihad Player of the Month for April

Player of the Month April

It’s time to vote for the Etihad Player of the Month for April 2019. Here are the nominees:

James Sands

James Sands has become a fixture in the defense for Season 5. NYCFC’s first homegrown signing has started in every game thus far, and has really shown up by making key tackles to keep the Boys in Blue unbeaten over the past five games. He can be seen in the back of the field keeping the ball out of the box and encouraging his teammates throughout the match.

Ebenezer Ofori

The Ghanaian midfielder has become an unsung hero while making a huge impact on the pitch. He has played a big role in the midfield by playing skillfully and giving opponents a hard time getting through the middle. His presence has helped keep NYCFC from conceding goals when it counts as the team has only been defeated once this season. He even kicked off Season 5 with the first goal against Orlando City SC back in March. The efforts made by Ofori have gone a long way, which is why he has been nominated for April’s Etihad Player of the Month.

HĂ©ber

The Brazilian’s arrival has been far from quiet -- Héber joined NYCFC in March filling the true number nine position to help the team offensively. His presence on the frontline has come to an explosive beginning with two assists and two goals in his first three starts for the City boys. He went on to win Man of the Match in three successive matches. The striker has also made MLS Team of the Week twice in April, helping NYCFC get their first two wins of the season. It’s no surprise that he was nominated for yet another award here.
