New York City Football Club are back in the Bronx Sunday to face Colorado Rapids.

For this edition of 'The Away End' presented by Berkeley College & Rennert International, we spoke to former U.S, international and Colorado Rapids defender Marcelo Balboa.

Hi Marcelo, thanks for speaking with us. How long have you been working as a TV analyst for the Rapids?

I’ve been working as a broadcaster for the Rapids for about 14 years.

What do you enjoy most about the job?

What I enjoy most is the atmosphere and the electricity in the stadium on game days.

What do you see as the Rapids' biggest tactical strengths?

The ability to transition from defending to attacking with all the speed that have.

The Rapids enjoyed a really strong season in 2021 finishing top of the Western Conference - how would you evaluate their start to 2022.

The start of the season has been a little bit of a roller coaster ride. It's been difficult to replace guys like Cole Bassett, Sam Vines, and Dominique Badji so they are just looking for consistency during the second part of the season and to be a little bit more clinical in front of goal.

And for any of our fans that may be in Denver for a game, are there any spots you’d suggest they check out?

Boulder is a beautiful place to visit, Golden is also a beautiful place to go visit, there are lots of hiking trails and some wonderful restaurants.
