Spotlight Callens vs Chicago

New York City FC notched another point on their road to the postseason in the Windy City this past Saturday.

David Villa found the equalizer a couple of minutes before the interval after Nemanja Nikolic had put Chicago ahead earlier in the night and that's how it stayed.

One of the features of the game was a stoic defensive performance from NYCFC, thanks in no small part to Peruvian defender, Alexander Callens.

Alongside Frederic Brillant, Callens has been in supreme form over this recent period where Maxime Chanot has been out injured.

This excellent partnership has been integral in keeping NYCFC in second place in the East, especially on the road where the Boys in Blue have been especially stubborn.

Conceding just three goals in their last five games away from Yankee Stadium, Patrick Vieira's side are tough to break down at present and Callens has been a huge part of the reason why.

In the second half of the decisive game against Chicago on Saturday, Veljko Paunovic's men were unable to get through to Sean Johnson, thanks to the hard work of Alexander and co.
