New York City FC vs. Sporting KC: Spotlight on Chris Wingert

Chris Wingert vs. Sporting KC

After playing the first three matches of the season in the center of defense, Chris Wingert moved back to his more familiar role at fullback for New York City FC's 1-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City in front of 27,454 on Saturday night at Yankee Stadium.

Despite the Club's first-ever defeat, the 32-year-old was named the Heineken Star of the Match for his performance.

The left back provided a tempting ball across the 6-yard box in the 83rd minute, but it went over the heads of both Patrick Mullins and Tony Taylor.

Here is the story of his day in words, video, pictures and numbers.
