Saunders, who earned his eighth nomination this season, is up for Week 20 honors with: Evan Bush (Montreal), Tyler Deric (Houston), Andrew Dykstra (D.C. United) and Sean Johnson (Chicago).

He had to showcase both his agility and reaction time in denying Chris Tierney's long-distance effort in the 53rd minute of Saturday's 1-0 loss to New England at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The Revolution left back unleashed a rocket from 25 yards out that was headed to the top far corner, but Saunders leapt, got a paw to it and palmed it over the bar.

The veteran goalie, who was credited with three saves, is fourth in MLS with 67 saves this season, trailing Stefan Frei (71), David Bingham (68) and Steve Clark (68). Saunders was also nominated for MLS Save of the Week in Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 7, Week 9, Week 10 and Week 18.

Voting runs until 11:59 p.m. PT on Thursday
