In an entertaining Tuesday for the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying games, both Costa Rica and Panama drew 1-1 against Honduras and USA, respectively.
Honduras 1 - 1 Costa Rica
Costa Rica bounced from a loss against Mexico last Friday to draw 1-1 with Honduras in San Pedro Sula.
Ronald Matarrita and Rodney Wallace started on the bench for Los Ticos, who pulled level in the second half when Kendall Waston headed a Christian Bolanos cross following a corner.
Anthony Lozano opened up the scoring in the 35th minute to give the hosts a first-half lead after his first attempt was denied by Keylor Navas.
The point puts Costa Rica in second on the CONCACAF table, three points below Mexico.
Panama 1 - 1 USA
Panama also came back from a loss against Trinidad & Tobago to draw 1-1 with the United States in Panama City last night.
Miguel Camargo started on the bench as his nation took on a strong USA team.
The US opened up the game when Christian Pulisic played a perfect ball to Clint Dempsey who scored it past Jaime Penedo.
The goal seemed to encourage Panama as the hosts leveled from a long throw from defender Tim Ream to Gabriel Gomez who blasted home right before half time to keep the score at 1-1.
The draw leaves Panama in third place, one point above the USA in fourth.
Luxembourg 0 - 2 Cape Verde
Luxembourg lost 0-2 to Cape Verde in Tuesday's friendly in Hesperange.
In a single half, Luxembourg conceded two goals courtesy of Barros in the 8th minute and Tavares in the 23rd minute. Although Luxembourg had many chances, they failed to score.
Unfortunately, Maxime Chanot was not in the starting lineup.
