New York City FC tasted defeat for just the fourth time this season after falling 3-1 to Real Salt Lake.

Hitting the Reset Button
NYCFC has tasted defeat in only four matches against Toronto FC, Portland Timbers, Red Bulls, and now Real Salt Lake.
There’s only one team in the league with fewer losses, LAFC who has conceded three.
In this game you have to have a short memory, it’s not about the losses but about the comebacks.
City now retains a 9-8-4 record sitting in fifth place on the Eastern Conference table.
They will look to hit the reset button and continue the climb to push for the top spot.
Unlucky in Utah
The Boys and Blue have faced off against Real Salt Lake five times in their short history.
Of those five matches, City has been bested four times. Their lone victory came last year in the Bronx.
Whether it’s the altitude or the energy the fans bring to Rio Tinto Stadium, NYCFC has yet to find success in Utah.
Regular Season Stack
New York City’s Football Club has played 21 games thus far, the least in the Eastern Conference.
With the regular season nearing crucial stages, the time to play catch up is now.
Maxi Moralez, who participated in the MLS All-Star Game, and Alex Callens were not available for the matchup, as they were taking some well earned rest and recovery.
Now the rest of the players will join them for some R&R before resuming their campaign for the Cup.
As the games begin to stack up, NYCFC have a chance in August to get back on positive footing.
Leaders gonna Lead
Alex Ring showed us, once again, why they call him the Ringleader.
His performance at home against Sporting Kansas City, with two assists and a goal, was just the beginning.
Four minutes into the match, captain Ring put his team on the board with a hammer shot straight past Nick Rimando taking the early lead.
Although they weren’t able to hold on to that lead, City’s captain continued his hot streak scoring his fourth goal of the season.
Bouncing Back
On the bright side, City is back at home on Thursday to take on the Houston Dynamo. They will look to make their comeback in front of the home fans, and get back on track climbing the Eastern Conference table.
Luckily they will have a longer break to rest up and get back in the lab to train for the matchup.
