Tunnel of Honor

New York City’s heroes lead New York City’s team onto the pitch. Since day one, New York’s Bravest and Finest are part of the match day experience that can only be found in New York City. Uniformed, active members of the FDNY and NYPD lead the player procession and hold up custom scarves to prompt the rest of the stadium to welcome the teams onto the pitch prior to the national anthem.

Goal Celebration

Hear the sound of an authentic NYC train horn and watch the subway make a stop right inside Yankee Stadium after each goal scored by the boys in blue in the Bronx. Be familiar with our entire roster because our PA announcer will only announce the first name of the player who scored a goal and it’s up to the fans to yell out the last name. Be sure to check out the smoke stacks after each goal scored and the special lighting effect after every goal scored during a night game.

Smoke Stacks

As seen in the streets in each borough throughout our great city, custom smoke stacks in front of our supporters are set off to signify the start of each home match, after each NYCFC goal and post-game following every NYCFC win. Who knows, you might have the chance to push the button and set them off to start an upcoming match!

Night Lights

NYCFC was the first team in MLS to utilize lighting effects on game days! Look up to see a special light show to signify the start of each home match, to bring the boys in blue out for the second half and to celebrate a win after each night match. Be on the lookout as the lights try to keep up with the subway car after each goal scored during a nighttime match.

NYC XI

Keep an eye out during the pre-game ceremony as eleven fans line up on the field holding custom flags of each NYCFC player representing that day’s starting XI.

National Anthem Performers

The Star-Spangled banner is performed live prior to the start of every home match and you never know who you might see. Past performers include: Ashanti, Madison Beer, Anthony Ramos (Hamilton), Bernie Williams, Tito Puente Jr., Pia Toscano, Kat DeLuna, Jessie Mueller, Constantine Maroulis and stars from Broadway’s biggest shows just to name a few.
