#IWD2017: NYCFC Celebrates International Women’s Day

International Womens day 2017

NYCFC kicked off International Women’s Day with a special talk from Legends CMO, Nicole Jeter-West.

Female employees of the club all came together at the club’s Manhattan office for an early morning discussion chaired by Jeter-West, an influential leader in the sports industry.

Speaking on the subjects of working in a male-dominated environment and the ever-changing landscape of the sports industry, it was the perfect way to mark an important day on the calendar.

Jeter-West previously worked as the Managing Director of Ticketing and Digital Strategy at the USTA after a spell at Madison Square Garden where she was Director of Marketing for the New York Knicks.

In this two-hour discussion group, Jeter-West talked about the importance of mentors and having someone to reach out to in an honest and open way.

In addition, the topics of finding work-life balance, setting boundaries and seeking support were all touched upon in an empowering, thoughtful dialogue.

International Women’s Day is a global day which celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women in all fields. The days also marks a call to action to come together to create a more inclusive, gender equal world.
