MLS All-Stars to Play Tottenham Hotspur in 2015 MLS All-Star Game

While the names that comprise the 2015 Major League Soccer All-Star team are still to be determined, their opponent has been finalized.


The MLS All-Stars will play English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the 2015 MLS All-Star Game at 9 p.m. ET on July 29 at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo., the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.


The match will be televised live on FOX Sports 1, UniMĆ”s and Univision Deportes Network in the United States, TSN and RDS in Canada, and in more than 100 countries worldwide.


Tottenham, currently seventh in the EPL, will be the 10th different international side to face the MLS All-Stars, who defeated Bayern Munich 2-1 last summer in Portland, Ore.


"The AT&T MLS All-Star Game continues to be one of the most entertaining and widely anticipated traditions for our league and for our sport in North America,ā€ MLS president and deputy commissioner Mark Abbott said in a statement. ā€œWe are excited to welcome another world-class opponent in Tottenham and look forward to a competitive match and a tremendous week of events. We know that the Colorado Rapids, one of our inaugural clubs, will be great hosts and that Dickā€™s Sporting Goods Park will impress both the fans in the stadium and television viewers throughout the world.ā€
