Adam Nemec Scores for Slovakia in Euro 2016 Qualifier

Adam Nemec

Adam Nemec scored a goal and played a full 90 minutes as Slovakia cruised to a 3-0 victory over Luxembourg in a Euro 2016 Qualifier on Friday afternoon in Žilina. Slovakia remains a perfect 5-0-0 in qualifying and stays atop Group C.

After Jan Durica's free kick from outside of the box rattled off the crossbar, the New York City FC striker was quick to react, rushing toward the bouncing ball and hitting a very good right-footed shot into the back of the net from 12 yards away in the 10th minute.

It was the third international goal in Nemec's career.

New York City FC teammate Khiry Shelton was also on international duty Friday. The rookie forward came on as a second-half subsitute for the United States Under-23 National Team in a 5-2 victory over Bosnia & Herzegovina in Tuzla.
