New York City FC Acquire Midfielder Kwadwo Poku From Atlanta

New York City FC are pleased to announce the transfer of Ghanaian midfielder, Kwadwo Poku, from the Atlanta Silverbacks of the NASL. Poku made 25 appearances for Atlanta in 2014, scoring 2 goals, including the winning goal against MLS side Real Salt Lake in their US Open Cup 4th round match.


The versatile 22 year old has shown his ability since arriving in the US in late 2010. He exhibited his talent and led the Georgia Revolution of the NPSL in scoring in both 2011 and 2012 before moving to Atlanta in early 2014.


New York City FC Sporting Director, Claudio Reyna said:

New York City FC acquired his MLS rights from the Seattle Sounders  FC for a conditional 2017 SuperDraft Pick.
