New York City FC Announces Plans to Kick Off at Iconic Yankee Stadium in March 2015 Club Officially Opens Season Ticket Sales for Inaugural Season 

New York City FC announced today that Yankee Stadium, one of the most recognizable venues in sports, will serve as its first home when the Club begins play in March of 2015, bringing professional soccer back to within the five boroughs.

In addition, season tickets for the inaugural 2015 season will go on sale today at 1:00 PM ET. Fans will be able to make an initial season ticket installment by visiting nycfc.com/tickets or by calling 855-77-NYCFC. A priority list for seat selection will be based on the order in which fans submit their initial season ticket installment. New York City FC Vice President of Ticketing & Fan Services, Mike Quarino will take over the clubs twitter account today at 3:00 PM ET to chat with fans and answer questions related to tickets.  

Details of the inaugural New York City FC 2015 season were revealed during a late morning press conference at Yankee Stadium, attended by New York City FC Chief Business Officer Tim Pernetti, Director of Football Operations Claudio Reyna, and Head Coach Jason Kreis, as well as New York Yankees President Randy Levine, New York Yankeesand Chief Operating Officer LonnTrost, New York City FC Chief Business Officer Tim Pernetti, New York City FC Director of Football Operations Claudio Reyna, and New York City FC Head Coach Jason Kreis.

In recent years Yankee Stadium has hosted a series of international soccer matches featuring some of the best teams in the world including Manchester City, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea, PSG, and more.  Before hosting New York City FC’s debut season, Yankee Stadium will welcome English Premier League rivals Manchester City FC and Liverpool FC, as they face off in this summer’s Guinness International Champions Cup on July 30 at 7:00 PM ET.

Plans for New York City FC to play at Yankee Stadium will not impact the New York Yankees or Major League Baseball (MLB) season scheduling.
