Here are your nominees for the Etihad Player of the Month for October 2021.

Keaton Parks

A vital part of Ronny Deila’s side, Keaton Parks is the oil that helps the engine run smoothly. The native of Plano, Texas, was central to the team securing three wins on the spin to close out October, and helped NYCFC take the lead this past weekend against Inter Miami CF with an assist. An elegant midfielder that seeks to stitch the team’s play together, Parks will be central to the team’s success in what remains of 2021.

Malte Amundsen

The Danish defender only joined NYCFC in February of this year, and after a period of adaptation we are seeing why the Club was so keen to bring him to the Big Apple. October saw Amundsen’s most consistent run of games for NYCFC, and in return he produced two assists against D.C. United and won the penalty that saw the Club overcome Chicago Fire. A rampaging threat down the left, Amundsen is looking settled and confident as part of Ronny Deila’s starting XI, and that should concern opposing teams across the league.

Taty Castellanos

The forward has been a consistent name on the ballot for Player of the Month this season, which only reinforces how well 2021 has gone for Castellanos. The 23-year-old played a part in every NYCFC game in October, and returned five goals and one assist in six appearances. That took him to 18 goals for the season and eight assists. An impressive total, he will no doubt have his eyes on the Golden Boot before the season ends.
